H2S pitting

H2S pitting

H2S pitting

(OP)
Hi Guys,

Can you point me in the direction of any good (visual) examples of H2S pitting in lines with approximately 50 Barg pressure and 50 C temperature
With ppm's in the region of 2000 for CO2 and 1000 for H2S. This would be on carbon steel pipework

I suspect that the resultant pits would be highly localised due to the high ratio of H2S to CO2 but I cant find any good examples,

Cheers,

Nick

RE: H2S pitting

NALCO's Corrosion In The Petroleum Industry: generic pictures not related to any specific environment. Good luck in distinguishing between that and pitting from other causes.
