CATIA V5 surfacing and STL scans.

CATIA V5 surfacing and STL scans.

(OP)
I have a STL file that was generated from a digitized part in Polyworks. I can import the STL file into CATIA V5 however when I create surfaces from the point cloud they are too small for our MasterCAM program to use. I have tried increasing the surface deviation but then the original surfaces are distorted. My goal is to be able to machine to the STL profile. Any ideas?

RE: CATIA V5 surfacing and STL scans.

MasterCAM should be able to import STL.

I have seen Polyworks build surface on cloud and it seems easier/faster/better than V5 capabilities. Why don't you create the surface in Polyworks?
