rotary core or flush?

rotary core or flush?

rotary core or flush?

(OP)
Dear all
A client asked me the question, why would we use core over flush?
what are the advantage and disadvantages?
What would restrict you from using one over the other?

Any ideas

Thanks

ash

RE: rotary core or flush?

Coring gives you strength assessment and material properties. Wash boring or flushing does nothing other than advance the hole and give you some idea of the type of material encountered by watching the wash cuttings flow over a screen.

Thanks Ron,
so why would you opt for flush at all if coring does that what flush does and more?

RE: rotary core or flush?

Two reasons imeadiately come to mind:

1. Coring can't be used in soil, fulsh or more properly, mud rotary can be used in soil.

2. Coring is generally at least twice as expensive per foot and can be 4 or 5 times as much per foot depending on the area.
