bauschinger effect on pipeline lateral buckling

bauschinger effect on pipeline lateral buckling

bauschinger effect on pipeline lateral buckling

(OP)
Hi all,
From my understanding, because of reeling process the pipeline will undergo past yielding type of loadings. This may affect the final pipeline strength/strain on the seabed. Depending on the location in the cross section, a point can undergo a strain hardening while the opposite point may undergo bauschinger effect (12 and 6 o'clock). Because of this, the pipeline may behave in a particular way when it laterally buckles at that point.
my questions are:
1. is this true?
2. if yes how siginficant is the influence of this strain hardening and bauschinger phenomena to the behaviour of pipeline buckling?
3. any good reference paper?

many many thanks!
