I'm trying to link a text note in a drawing to the configuration name from the model in view. This is probably a simple task, but I can't get it to work. I'm using Solidworks 2001plus, please help.

RE: Link to Configuraition Name

As far as I am aware this cannot be done in 2001+. But it definitely can be done in 2003 - so hang in there.

RE: Link to Configuraition Name

I know this can be done if you've created your CONFIGURATIONS with a DESIGH TABLE.

Just make a CUSTION PROPERTY (call it CFGNAM or something), then make your cell = to the first column in your table.

Then, in your TEXT NOTE, you can link to the CGFNAM you just made.

There may be a slicker way to do this, but without investigating I can tell you for sure this will work.
