Question about Hole Table feature

Question about Hole Table feature

Question about Hole Table feature

(OP)
Does anyone know of a way to make the hole table feature automatically map the holes to be in order from right to left or clockwise.(From the zero-corner) Currently, when designing and drafting the hole locations in our symmetrically opposite molds, the labeling is all over the place making tools with a lot of holes, somewhat hard to follow. For example in the current job I'm working on, hole's B1 and B2 are symmetrically opposite of hole's F1 and F2, while at the same time hole's K8 is symm-opp of hole K11. It just seems to be a bit more random than it could be.

Any advice is welcome, whether I need to create a sketch and map sketch holes, or whatever, I'm open for suggestions.

Thank you in advance.

Joe

RE: Question about Hole Table feature

What version of NX are you running?

Prior to NX 8.5, you had no control whatsoever over the order. However, starting with NX 8.5, if you manually select the holes, by picking them one at a time, the software will honor the selection order in terms of where that particular hole appears in the Hole Table note.

Thanks John, we are running into issues with being able to manually select the holes. Sometimes it will let you, other times it will not. Does this have something to do with how we are creating the holes? (subtracting cylinders versus using the hole feature?)

Thanks again!

PS. We are using 8.5

RE: Question about Hole Table feature

Probably. It's best to use actual 'Hole Features'.
