ASME B31.3 X-Ray REQ

ASME B31.3 X-Ray REQ

ASME B31.3 X-Ray REQ

(OP)
As a manufacturer of piping under ASME 31.3, what are the requirements of X-ray?
Does the manufacturer have to keep the X-ray film, is there anything that states that?

RE: ASME B31.3 X-Ray REQ

I assume that you are referring to the manufacturer of longitudinal or spiral seam welded pipe. The ASTM, API or Purchaser specifications' requirements govern and B31.3 does not address a time frame.

We are performing round seam welds on Butt joints, it is a spool, customer asked for the 5% Random.
They have always asked for the film, but are we required by code to keep a film for our records,or will the Reader sheet be sufficient?
