Weight display in Assembly Navigator

Weight display in Assembly Navigator

Weight display in Assembly Navigator

(OP)
Hi Guys.

I have a strange situation where it will not display the weight of my part in the assembly navigator as it usually does. I have defined a material for the solids contained, saved etc, yet still no part weight.

Any ideas? I have 200 parts i have created within a large assembly i have created, yet just this 1 part file which will not show its weight, both in the containing assembly or when just the part is open.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Weight display in Assembly Navigator

In addition to the save options, make sure the part in question is actually a solid body and not a sheet body (or collection of sheet bodies).

If it is a solid body, use the "examine geometry" command to make sure it is valid; it should pass all the body and face checks. Geometry errors can lead to weight calculation errors, drafting view errors, etc etc.

RE: Weight display in Assembly Navigator

Make sure that under file properties you have update weight on save turned on else the weight will always need to be updated manually....

File - properties - Weight tab.....

RE: Weight display in Assembly Navigator

Check the settings under Analysis - Advanced mass properties - Advanced weight management.
We sometimes find that the reference set being used is set to 'Entire Part' rather than 'Model', resulting in all solid bodies being included in the calculation. Other settings in this form will also affect the weight.
