Just wonder how the design of FPSO take into accoutn for seismic load?

RE: seismic load

First question is "How does the earthquake accelerations act on a Floating object?

RE: seismic load

please explain thanks

RE: seismic load

FPSO?

RE: seismic load

The relation is a tsunami smarty

RE: seismic load

With all due respect, I have seen a similar clause in a reputed Indian specification and after many clarifications, it was revealed that maritime movements might be emulated by g values attributed to the equipment designed in PV Elite. Long shot, but it was only a quick selection in the Seismic loads page and the roll pitch etc loads have been translated in seismic loads on FPSO. There you go.
Cheers,

RE: seismic load

gr2vessels,
Agree seastate loadings (heave pitch and roll) are simulated by "g" accelerations for pipework and equipment on an FPSO and the Tsunami is a possible valid load for an FPSO but cannot see how Earthquake accelerations themselves are transmitted to a floating FPSO.

@DSB123 so what you mean is the seismic load on FPSO are the g loading which is also the gravitation acceleration that act on the vessel right? so is tsunami also in the same catergory as g loading
