Career development

(OP)
Hi everyone! Im posting because i want some advice concerning my career as an electric power engineer, hoping that it's going to be useful for other beginners as well. My concern is that right now I'm undergoing a master program in electric power, but I've come to think that I dont feel ready to go out to the field and work even though I have obtained a lot of theorical background. I want some recommendations from experienced engineers about how you started out your careers.

Suggestions concerning literature, technical papers or anything you think might be useful to jump start an electric power career is welcome.

My interest in Power Systems include operation and planning, optimization and automation.
I worked for 6 months as a field operator, before going abroad to acquire my master degree.

Thanks.bigsmile

RE: Career development

Entry level position (or the best you can get) electrical testing (acceptance and maintenance). In my opinion, the experience is invaluable.
