Interaction (Shell to Solid)

Interaction (Shell to Solid)

(OP)
Hi
I am modeling pipe buried in soil. The pipe is modeled by shell while the soil is modelled by solid element.
I want to describe interaction (surface to surface : frictional) between them and my question is:

-is this interaction possible in abaqus

- I got the following message which I couldn't understand
"The element based surface assembly_pipeinside has a mixture of 3d shell edges and other types of underlying elements. If a surface has any 3d shell edges then all of its facets must be 3d shell edges".

any help will be greatly appreciated.
thank you
