In an assembly, vary the length without using expressions

In an assembly, vary the length without using expressions

(OP)
Hello!

In an assembly, is there any way to have the length of an object to vary without using expressions? I would like to just constrain an object to object A and object B and then vary the distance between object A and B and have the middle object change its length. Is it possible?

Any help is much appreciated!

RE: In an assembly, vary the length without using expressions

It is probably best if you can show a picture.
yes, it more than likely is possible to do what you need, but hard to explain without more info.

RE: In an assembly, vary the length without using expressions

Sounds like you need to wave link some faces of objects A & B into the middle object and use them to control the middle object shape (i.e. using extrusion from/to object)

RE: In an assembly, vary the length without using expressions

Or you could create a 'Deformable' part, and in the Assembly create a Measurement of the distance between the A & B references and use that value to control the 'length' of the Deformable Component. It technically still envolves the use of expressions but once set up it would update automatically without the need of user intervention which I suspect is what the OP is really looking for when he says that he wants to "have the length of an object to vary without using expressions".
