Anchor Flange Coating

Anchor Flange Coating

Anchor Flange Coating

(OP)
Hi everybody,
Does concrete-embedded anchor flange need special coating? or it can be finished by the same coating which is specified for underground pipeline. In other words, does chemical reation of concrete during solidification affect the pipe and shall be taken care of it with different finishing?

RE: Anchor Flange Coating

Concrete weight coating is routinely applied over FBE and polyolefin coatings with some slight modifications dependent upon concrete application method and interfacial friction requirements, neither of which are likely to apply to the anchor flange scenario. If the proposed concrete application is made with offshore weight coating formulations, there hasn't been evidence of the curing process degrading the anti-corrosion coating.
