Pneumatic Testing Article Published at ENGINEERING.com

(OP)
In forum1554: Engineering Writers Guild MVP members of eng-tips.com develop articles for publication on the Internet. This informal peer-review process has resulted in 3 articles being published thus far, and a fourth in editorial review after the member review. Early indications make this seem to be an effective way to make information available to the engineering profession.

One of the articles was on pneumatic testing as an alternative to hydrostatic testing. It was published last week. As of this morning the article had been visited almost 900 times, shared on Facebook 13 times, shared on LinkedIn once, and Tweeted (whatever that means) 5 times.

I would be very interested to participate in a discussion here among the Piping community about the article or the subject in general. The article is available at: Pneumatic Testing of Pipelines as an Alternative to Hydrostatic Testing

Thank you to all of those who worked hard on this article to keep me more or less honest. I had a lot of help, but at the end of the day any errors or omissions are mine. I'll share the credit for the good stuff, but I own the mistakes.

Some questions everybody wants to know.

Does B31.4 allow pneumatic testing? When? Where? Why?
Does B31.8 allow pneumatic testing? When? Where? Why? Why not?
Does CFR 49:192 allow pneumatic testing? When? Where? Why? Why not?
Does CFR 49:195 allow pneumatic testing? When? Where? Why? Why not?

you must get smarter than the software you're using.
