Filling holes in mesh using "STL Mesh" tool pallet.

Filling holes in mesh using "STL Mesh" tool pallet.

(OP)
I have a mesh that was generated from a STL file using the "Digitized Shape Editor" workbench. The result is a shaded mesh but there are some triangulated holes in the mesh. I have tried using several ways including the "fill holes" icon but I cannot get them to fill.
Trying many values for the "hole size" parameters does not help. My goal is to generate surfaces from mesh. Any ideas?
