ISO and ASME pumps

ISO and ASME pumps

(OP)
Hi guys,

I would like to know the major differences of these two pump standards. Datasheets are requiring ASME B73.1, however, one vendor is alternatively offering pumps in accordance with ISO 2858/5199? Is this acceptable?
Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks.

RE: ISO and ASME pumps

Depends on why B73.1 is being specified. If it's for compatibility then probably NO, if it's because the people specifying B73.1 just like the sound of the spec., then maybe no. Why don't you ask the people who specified it or the user - pretty simple solution.

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)

RE: ISO and ASME pumps

To begin with,
ASME 73.1 will have imperial (inch) as dimension.
ISO 2858/5199 pumps will have metric (mm) as dimension.
