Abaqus - XY data extraction for shell element

Abaqus - XY data extraction for shell element

Abaqus - XY data extraction for shell element

(OP)
Hello all,

I have tried extracting a stress value at a certain co-ordinate for an equivalent 3d model. I created a path of only 1 node and extracted the von mises stress there. It worked well.

However, when I try the same for a shell model, the software says that 'no results could be found for XY data extraction from the path' (please see pic attached)

Could anyone help me on this matter ?
much appreciated.

RE: Abaqus - XY data extraction for shell element

If it's only one node then why not use the Tools/Query/Probe values method and just click on the node?

oh I am sorry,

I should have mentioned this before, I am trying to extract the stress values at a certain co-ordinate. It is not at a node. Essentially, this co-ordinate could be in the middle of an element.

Thanks

RE: Abaqus - XY data extraction for shell element

Perhaps the point doesn't lie on the shell? You are using the deformed shape so perhaps it doesn't see that point on the deformed shape. Use undeformed and check the coordinates you put in.
