wet gas compression
wet gas compression
(OP)
does the polytropic stage method PSPF() in Prode Properties allow to simulate wet gas compression with high values of liquid fractions ?
I have a two phase application, according the manual it should allow to simulate a polytropic stage with phase equilibria but the limits of application (for this method) are not given.

RE: wet gas compression
my version of Prode Properties includes two models for polytropic stages
1) Huntington (for gas phase)
2) Proprietary (Prode) method applicable to both gas and vapor + liquid phases
as far as I know the proprietary (Prode) method is applicable to both gas and vapor + liquid and there are not limits for liquid fraction,
you can solve both gas compression (but Huntigton runs faster) and vapor + liquid,
I have not tested pumps but it should work for pumps, too.
For additional information you may contact the developer (there are additional methods for pumps/compressors available as extended models)
RE: wet gas compression
thanks for the information,
my version (Base) has two models,
it seems that software does a test to detect liquid phase,
in case of liquid Huntington method stops (generating error) while Prode method solves in any case,
I undestand that (for Prode method) there are no limits for liquid fraction.
