RT for Shell to cone juncture

RT for Shell to cone juncture

RT for Shell to cone juncture

(OP)
Dear All,

With reference to the above subject I would like to raise my query.
I have one stiffener attached to the shell portion which is very near to the shell-cone juncture, i.e. approx. 10mm. Here should I do any NDE procedure for the cone to shell juncture ?

As I understand that according to ASME stiffener can be located at the juncture & there is nothing restricting to do NDE for Butt weld- fillet weld joint.

Kindly share your views.

Warm Regards,
Bikas

Code of construction?

RE: RT for Shell to cone juncture

I will perform NDE first on cone-shell junction and then weld stiffening ring. For stiffing ring to shell weld joint, onlt MT/PT will be sufficient.
