Spare parts management

Spare parts management

(OP)
Hello Everyone,

Can you suggest me any links which can give fully description in order to prepare spare parts management system? I'm mechanical engineer and unfortunately don't have any experience related to these topic.

RE: Spare parts management

Many factors are left to the forum reader's guess at this point:
part sizes, part quantities, special requirements (corrosion proofing, etc), security and access controls, portability, manual or automatic retrieval system, your budget for such a system, etc

Here is what I think of when I think of storage: http://www.listaintl.com/ , but this is specific to my point of view, as I am in the machine shop quite often working with small parts.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.
