I am looking for some basic informa

I am looking for some basic informa

I am looking for some basic informa

(OP)
I am looking for some basic information on short span, highway bridge construction costs for county and township structures.  I know that costs vary considerably based on span and type of construction, but are there any suggestions for cost data bases?  I would be interested in $cost/sf of deck for cast-in-place and precast gider bridges including the foundation abutments.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

RE: I am looking for some basic informa

This probably won't help much, but here goes ...
The Florida DOT's website has info on contracts awarded. They do not list the project type, so you have to scan the list of 'pay items' to see if it includes bridge elements (455-xx-xxx are piling, for example).
The URL is http://www11.myflorida.com/cc-admin/.
Do you have particular types of structures in mind? If so, I may be able to provide some rough values.

RE: I am looking for some basic informa

Typical short span local bridges cost between $90 and $150 per sf of deck (including substructures) in the Mid-Atlantic US.  Foundation conditions and height of abutments are generally the determining factors regarding which end of the scale a particular crossing occupies.

Half-width construction, aesthetic treatments, and environmental restrictions can significantly increase the cost beyond that given above.

Wow, 90 to 150 dollars per sq. foot is high.  Here in the Midwest, we see about $45/sq. ft. to $75/sq. ft. for prestressed girder and $50/sq. ft to $100/sq. ft for steel.

You can also get some older information from Xanthatkos, Bridge Strengthening and Rehabilitation which list new construction cost in sq. foot of deck for several types in several states.  I sometimes use this in conjunction with ENR's building inflation cost index of 5%/yr.  You'll have to check out what is the latest index of course.
