For a 8" valve you are probably limited to casting Steel in the general market.
There are advantages and disadvantages, but must of all the fabrication technologies tell us that a casted 8" valve makes more sense than a 8" forged valve.

As mentioned above, ASTM A105 is forged steel and is normally MOC for valve bodies for screwed and forged valves.
ASTM A216 is cast and is MOC for large bore flanged valves.
Also both materials CAN BE welded and screwed but convention is what you need to follow.
