Hello!

I would like to install a fibre optic cable through a solid masonry wall dividing a process plant and the control room.

It's a temporary install and obvviously the cable is fragile.

I'm looking for advice and products to handle the interface. We've heard of expanding gas-filled bricks for this purpose but don't know any vendors. Internet searches merely return a lot of ads from ISPs.

Did you search for fiber optic feedthrough or penetrator?

The bare fiber might be fragile, but the built-up cable has sheathing, etc., that drastically increases its robustness. Installers seem to have no problems pulling fiber through conduits:
