Chinese Part Name

(OP)
I have a assembly and few parts which are created in solidworks by one of our vendor. All the part files and assembly numbers (part number and assembly number) are in chinese. I want to open the assembly in UG NX 7.5 but not able to open it. I believe that we don't have CHINESE font installed. Is there any way I can open the assembly in UG.
I tried renaming part names to english language and able to open the parts in UG but not assembly.

RE: Chinese Part Name

The command line utility: ug_edit_part_names will allow you to change part references in the assembly file. If renaming the part files allowed you to open them, perhaps this utility will help change the references in the assembly so it can be opened. Of course, if you can't open the assembly, there is no guarantee that this utility won't error out as well... But I think it is worth trying. More info on the utility can be found in the NX help Home -> Fundamentals -> Command line utilities -> Change component part references in an assembly.
