Template Drafting Preferences

Template Drafting Preferences

Template Drafting Preferences

(OP)
Version NX9
Using Master Model
Windows 8.1

This is an interesting issue. IN NX 7.5 I could create a template and set the drafting preferences, such as font and size and when that template is opened those preferences were maintained. In NX9 this is mostly true, most of the set preferences are being maintained, but font and font size are not.

I have changed the settings in the drafting template to Blockfont and set the line weight to medium. Yet when it is opened the font is Arial Unicode MS and the line weight is regular.

So I have tried to also change it in the model file before opening the drafting template. Yet I get the same result. I have opened the template to verify the settings and they are there.

I figure there must be a setting somewhere that is being missed.

When the model file is open, I go to New -> (we have our own tab with drawing template) -> then the desired sheet size

Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Template Drafting Preferences

Version NX 9
I've also run into similar problems with Machining templates in NX 9 that were never a problem in all previous versions I've used.
mill_planar.prt template can be customized and the changes work, but with mill_contour.prt, hole_making.prt and mill_multiaxis.prt
any customizations done to these files do not show up when creating operations from these templates.
I hope someone at Siemens can address this issue. This is a big time saver for me, getting most of the settings to reflect what are
being used most of the time.

Thanks
