Hi,

Would like to get your advice for the product latent load calculation for beef.
According to ashrae , Latent Load= Mass x ( Latent heat fusion)/ Pull down time. The question is that the when the provision is already freezed at -4"C at arrival. If so can we neglect the latent load?

The question you have to ask, Is how much further down are you going to pull it? If you are going to keep it at minus 4C then you will not have a latent load.

if it is already frozen, you only need to "cool off" sensible heat if you cool it even lower.

Look on a psychrometric chart and calculate the difference between -4C and where you are cooling to. Assume the air is saturated in both cases which is mostly true.
