Geometric Properties

Geometric Properties

Geometric Properties

(OP)
Hi all

Just wondering what the best solution is in NX9.0 to replaces the functionality of the Geometric Properties tool.
Our CAM guys really like this tool as the can quickly hover over the part they are looking to machine and find the minimum radius anywhere along a face

I know that local radius does a similar job, but without the Dynamic option it is just not as friendly to use.

It our CAM users are complaining that if they move to NX8.5 it's not in their standard bundle, but is to the CAD users ?
This has got to the point the CAM users won't move of NX8.0 but the CAD Guy's want NX9.0 now

Any suggestions ?

RE: Geometric Properties

I know it is not the exact answer, that you want to hear. But at the moment, you can still use the old Geometric Properties command in NX9.
1. tools/customize
2. click on commands tab
3. open the menu section
4. click on Analysis
5. on the right, you will see the Geometric Propertis command
You can find this command also in NX8.5.

The intersting thing is, that in NX8.5, when you search for this command, you will find this: Geometric Properties (to be retired)...
But in NX9, there is only Geometric Properties. There is no more (to be retired) statement. But in the balloon you can read, that Local Radius is preferred over this command.

Hope it helps.

RE: Geometric Properties

And of course, there is a step 6. to my previous description, too.
You can position this command from Customize dialog box to any toolbar or menu, that you want.
