Shanghai Tower

RE: Shanghai Tower

Thanks! I love finding engineering related shows running around YouTube. Here's some random stuff I've been watching lately. Morbidly fascinating and lots of great information if you work in industrial sites like I often do.

RE: Shanghai Tower

All I get is that the video was removed by the user.

RE: Shanghai Tower

Yeah, I also get that now. Oh well.

Me too. Sorry about that.

RE: Shanghai Tower

I watched the whole thing just before they took it down. It was so fascinating that I couldn't stop watching. Unfortunately, the new link that BA posted is only a 4minute:40 second version. The one I watched was over 54 minutes long.

Yes spats, the new link, although fairly interesting, is not nearly as good from an engineering perspective as the first link was. Too bad it was removed.

RE: Shanghai Tower

I watched the full version.

I wanted to throw some of those "bosses" over the edge!

RE: Shanghai Tower

If the guys responsible for completing the work prior to the topping out ceremony had not finished in time, it seems like they probably would have been thrown over the edge... or they might have jumped themselves! I didn't realize that the Chinese are like the Japanese when it comes to honor/dishonor.

RE: Shanghai Tower

That's the same one as the original.

Best quote, "The structural engineer always has a solution"

RE: Shanghai Tower

But first he must ask "How much money do you have?"
