Point to edge command error

Point to edge command error

(OP)
I have a question about the command Point to edge of the Meshing Toolbox. In the uploaded videos of the Femap community looks so cool, but when I use it I usually have the following error Point and Curve not on the same Parasolid Body, exiting. Do you have any suggestions?

RE: Point to edge command error

Hi aleximos,

Femap told you that because point and curve must be in the same geometry. In fact, you could only "split" a surface with its own point and curve.
Personally, I use the surface/non-manifold add before using this operation. This command will create a single "general body" and then you can split all surfaces by any point and curves as they are in the same "general body".
Be careful with the non-manifold add because it will merge all the curves for the surfaces you picked...

Hope this helps.
