Machine Tool Load Limit on 6th Floor
Machine Tool Load Limit on 6th Floor
(OP)
We are an OEM of x-ray equipment. Our end-user has a 6th floor load limit of 3KN/m2. I know that this calculates to 62.66 lbs/ft2. I have two machines that I need to determine whether or not they fall inside or outside this limit. Machine A: System weight = 2000 lbs with a base that measures 30" x 30" with a leveling foot of 3.5" dia on each of the 4 corners. Machine B: System weight = 2500 lbs with a base that measures 32" x 40" with a leveling foot of 3.5" dia on each of the 4 corners. The systems will be bolted in position. Appreciate any assistance.

Something else to consider may be vibration limits for the machinery - something that may require an in depth structural analysis of the floor in question beyond what load it can handle.
It points back to TehMightyEngineer's comment - hire a structural engineer.
