Trimming Steel?

Trimming Steel?

Trimming Steel?

(OP)
Hi Guys,

Just a quick question to help me avoid looking like I have no clue at work. I've just started looking after a structural steel contractor on site and have been told to investigate the requirements for "trimming steels" to the existing RC slabs.

Can anyone let me know what might be meant by "trimming steel"?

Cheers

M

RE: Trimming Steel?

Any more information? Did they fabricate the columns "long" for later trimming to meet as-built slab elevations?

This isn't one of those "Go get me a steel expandulator jokes" is it?

Bob
