Using ASTM A234 WPB Swaged nipple instead of ASTM A105

(OP)
Dear Experts,

Kindly advise on subjected query if ASTM A234 swaged nipple is used instead of ASTM A105. Is there any major difference/impact ?

Thanks.

RE: Using ASTM A234 WPB Swaged nipple instead of ASTM A105

It would have to be SA 234 WPC versus WPB for a substitution to ensure equal or higher allowable stress values in comparison to SA 105. Other than that read the material specifications on your own.

RE: Using ASTM A234 WPB Swaged nipple instead of ASTM A105

We just plain don't use swage nipples, because we find that when we order them, they're either not in stock or are machined out of barstock...
