Seen this type of gear before?

Seen this type of gear before?

(OP)
I have not seen this type of gear and have no clue how to reproduce this.
It's mated at 90 degrees. I thought any type of bevel gear would that job.

Please share some knowledge TIA

RE: Seen this type of gear before?

It looks like a gear coupling designed to mesh at any angle from 0 to 90 degrees, with the pivot point on the pitch circle. Basically a CV coupling. I've seen something similar used to connect a drive motor to a mixer shaft on lab glassware. I guess it is about as cheap a way to to do it as any.

RE: Seen this type of gear before?

It's a type of face gear.
Face gears are generally manufactured on specially modified gear shaping machines.
The face gear in the image below has been hobbed on either a modified hopping machine or a bevel gear generating machine.

If you could provide better quality pictures that aren't so blurry then I might be able to help you work out how your gear was manufactured.

Thanks Ron :)
The information is really helpful. It is indeed a space gear, and we found a solution how to produce this gear!
