How to create a break line on a part

Is there a way to create a break line on a part in a drawing that will cut off the unwanted half of the part. I've tried creating a line and just changing it to a break line, then trimming the object lines of the part to the break line but it wouldn't highlight the object lines to trim. Any ideas? I've attached a power point to illustrate what I'm working with below.

RE: How to create a break line on a part

The right way is to use Clipping View command from Views toolbar (I think that that's right name...)
