Secured CATIA files in SmartTeam

Secured CATIA files in SmartTeam

Secured CATIA files in SmartTeam

(OP)
Can anyone explain what a "Secured Part" or "Secured Drawing" or "Secured Product" is in SmartTeam?

We recently noticed a different icon when listing various CATIA files. The CATIA file icon contains a black key on the bottom, and when we hover over the icon, one of the above descriptions appears. What does the key mean? Can we change the status to the normal, unsecured status? It doesn't seem to cause any problems with check-in/check-outs or releasing CATIA files.

thanks.

RE: Secured CATIA files in SmartTeam

A secure file in SmarTeam is one that has restrictions on who can access it, or the ability of someone to access the file from outside the network. If you can check the file in/out then you obviously are not restricted. If you really want to know what the secure file restrictions are, then you should ask your SmarTeam database administrator for an explanation. Normally, I would think the only people with authority to modify these security restrictions are those that have authority to transmit controlled CAD files to parties outside the company.
