STAAD-ISM-Tekla workflow resources

STAAD-ISM-Tekla workflow resources

(OP)
Dear All:

Does anyone have any good resources for implementing the STAAD-ISM-Tekla workflow? I can't really find any good instruction on how to execute this workflow and it offers some serious advantages. I'd appreciate any insight as to how to leverage the BIM type technology.

Essentially, here's the workflow that we would like to follow:

1) Engineer creates the initial Tekla model geometry
2) Engineer creates ISM file and then uses the ISM to create the STAAD analysis file
3) Engineer inserts loads, releases, supports, parameter and optimizes the structure
4) Engineer then updates the ISM through the link to STAAD
5) Engineer then updates the Tekla model through the ISM link
6) Engineer inserts the connection design loads into Tekla while the Designer fine-tunes the model and produces preliminary plan & elevation drawings
7) Sub-contracted Connection Designer/Detailer gains access to the preliminary model as well as receives typical structural connection details
8) Sub-contracted Connection Designer engineers the connections per the typical structural connection details
9) Sub-contracted Detailer receives the connection requirements and working in the same model as the Designer, connects the Tekla model
10) Sub-contracted Connection Designer submits engineering calculations for Engineer's review/approval; Engineer returns with comments and they are incorporated into the model
11) Engineer and Designer engineer and design non-typical connections and insert into the model
12) Detailer creates shop drawings, which are reviewed by Engineer/Designer using Tekla's In-Model Review tool
13) Comments are incorporated and model/drawings are issued to the fabricator
