Defining a region for fully plastic criteria

Defining a region for fully plastic criteria

Defining a region for fully plastic criteria

(OP)
Hi all,

I am plastically deforming an S shaped beam on abaqus, and I want the solver to stop when a section is fully plastic (you can specify a region in the Step module). The problem that I am encountering is that I don't know how to define a specific section of the beam. Is there a function such as findAt() that could allow me to select the appropriate elements?
Also, I don't know if this can be done but I'd like to select the region where the strain is maximal, since stopping when another region is fully plastic makes no sense, is it possible to do so? Thank you

Cheers,
Andy.
