Posting this just in case anyone else comes across this same issue.

When in Visualization and trying to review Plot Deformed Shape or Plot Contours on Deformed Shape received the error message,
"Abaqus Deformation and/or analytical surface extent is too large as compared with the model"

After a couple of frustrating hours dealing with this warning I finally found that under:
Common Plot Options -> Basic -> Deformation Scale Factor -> Uniform (selected)

Abaqus had changed my Uniform Value to 1e+009, which was magnifying my deformation results so far out of proportion it was causing the visualization error.
I typically have this value set to "1" so that I can see the actual deformation instead of an exaggerated result.

This is nothing exciting but if it prevents even just one person's waste of time and frustration then it's worth the post.
