GRE pipe

GRE pipe

Where can I get GRE pipe weight? I am also looking for support spacing data for GRE pipes.

RE: GRE pipe

(OP)
Yes but I am looking for something like what ASME B 36.10 and ASME B 36.19 give you for wrought iron and stainless steel respectively.

RE: GRE pipe

(OP)
And FYI, Future Pipes is the manufacturer :D

RE: GRE pipe

lhwingking, One of the issues with GRE is that each supplier does it slightly differently. The ISO code 14692, parts 1 to 4 may provide you with some information and have provides a uniform specification for strength and other issues, but there is no equivalent to the codes you mention and you need to start thinking of this as a different material, not thinking it is just a different type of steel.

My motto: Learn something new every day

Also: There's usually a good reason why everyone does it that way

RE: GRE pipe

Hi, The Pipe weight varies depend on your specification/appln provided to vendor.
The thickness varies depend on your Pressure & temperature.

Hence the Pipe weight changes accordingly.

It might be GRE, GRP, GRV etc, only the resin typ will change for the
Pipe manufacturing. Also, there is two types of Pipe manufacturing.

1. Continous type
2. Dis-continous type (mandrel type).

Best of luck

RE: GRE pipe

Mostly it is 70% glass and 30% resin, depends on fabrication method.
epoxyresin = 1,1 g/cm3.
glass = 2,5 g/cm3.
