Advanced Powercopy

Advanced Powercopy

Advanced Powercopy

(OP)
Hi everyone,

I am currently working on a powercopy that will instantiate simple part bodies.

I want to be able to have the user input a number of instances and the powercopy will create that number of instances entered.

Has anyone been able to perform this type of action.

My workbenches are limited to only KWA and KWE, so using PKT with User Defined Features is not an option.

Thanks

Zelym

RE: Advanced Powercopy

I don know if that can be done. But you have a repeat option in power copy.

RE: Advanced Powercopy

so if the user says he need 4 powercopies, he will have 4 time the same result?

Look at Knowledge Template, it might be what you looking for, but you might need some extra licenses...

itsmyjob, Yeah thats what I am looking for and was afraid that additional licenses was a requirement.

I think I am now going to have a script that will instantiate the powercopy by searching for axis systems and using these as the input.

What type of prompt or code do I need to instantiate to searched elements within a script?

Since I am new to coding I would normally record the action inside CATIA but it does not record anything with instantiating a powercopy.

Thanks,

Zelym

RE: Advanced Powercopy

you need KT license for power copy to work in MAcro

There is a CATScript that is in the install path that can be used as an example. Unfortunately you would need a KT1 runtime license which you might have as it is bundled in some packages.
