Design of Metal to metal rectangular Flat Head

I have a rectangular flat face flange with a rectangular flat face blind. There is no gasket in between the flanges.
- UG-34 sketch(j) and (k) are only for bolted flat head with gasket.
- Appendix Y : is only for circular flange.
How could I calculate the thickness of the bolted rectangular blind flange ?

RE: Design of Metal to metal rectangular Flat Head

EST2014, without knowing more about the exact details I would say use Fig UG-34(p), as is seems no edge moment is imposed on the head.

Regards,

Mike

SnTMan, thanks for your reply.. but Fig UG-34 (p) is for cover with full-face gasket and it´s not my case.

RE: Design of Metal to metal rectangular Flat Head

Don't use it then.

Regards,

Mike
