how to use section view in drafting to hide the remaining geometry

how to use section view in drafting to hide the remaining geometry

how to use section view in drafting to hide the remaining geometry

(OP)
NX 8.5

the attached picture is an example. real geometry has lots of features

i want to give a top view of the cap,
HOWEVER, I do not want to show the remaining geometry which is the big disc.

I sort of learn that section view option has "Foreground", "beckground" option, I follow the help file but still dont know how to properly get what i want.

as you see, I put the section view line outside of the geometry because i just want to show the top of the cap UP to the red dot line...

how to do this task in NX

View Dependent Edit is what you may wish to try.

RE: how to use section view in drafting to hide the remaining geometry

Per the attached Drawing, select the view of interest, press MB3 and select 'Style'. When the dialog opens, select the 'Perspective' tab and toggle ON the 'Back Clipping' option and enter 100 for the distance (this may require some trial & error to get what you're looking for) and hit OK.
