SW 2014 2D drawing Section views

SW 2014 2D drawing Section views

(OP)
Alright, I make a section view, the manager thing lets me defualt a vertical section cutting line, I place the line, creat e and place my section view. Then I go back to adjust the position of my arrow heads and letters at each end of my section line because freakin SolidWorks puts them out in feakin nowhere, and when I click and drag the end of the section cutting line to drag it back close to my part, the section cutting line is not locked in the vertical position, it will elt me drag it to anywhere, of course F%^&*^ ing up the desired orientation of my section view.

Why does SW let you define a vertical or horizontal section line if it doesn't lock the line in that position? Even Excel lets you hold down CTRL or ALT or SHIFT and drag to maintain the default orientation of the line if you want to drag the end of it.

Am I missing a setting?

Right-click on section line, edit sketch, define freakin line.

RE: SW 2014 2D drawing Section views

Do you have your sketch snaps on, under options>sketch>relations/snaps make sure horizontal/vertical lines is checked. For me it was set to default and when i drag my section line to set it it shows me a coincident snap location and a vertical line snap when attempting to select my location for my section line.

The other option which is more tedious is to right click the section line> edit cutting line then in the feature manager select edit sketch and define your section line as desired along with setting the length and positioning as you desire.
