Attachment Points - Beam Elements

Attachment Points - Beam Elements

Attachment Points - Beam Elements

(OP)
Hello,

I am trying to join two beam elements using springs as fasteners. The beams are continuous between the two end nodes, and I tried to create attachment points along the length of the beam. The points are there, but not physically attached to the beam like i want them to be. When I run the analysis, the springs just sit there because the attachment points are not actually connected the beams, they are separate points.

The model works if i break the beams up into smaller, individual segments and avoid using attachment points all together. But by doing so, the beams obviously do not behave continuous anymore like they should (I am trying to model pieces of lumber).

Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks!
