Looking for New Structural Engineering Software.
Looking for New Structural Engineering Software.
(OP)
I am in the process of looking at new structural engineering analysis - design software and just ran across a software named Scia Engineer. It looks like it has some pretty interesting 3D modeling capabilities as well as round trip interoperability with a number of software packages such as Revit, Tekla, SDS/2, ArchiCAD and Vecotorworks. Does anyone have any experience with it? If yes, would you share some constructive comments on it?

RE: Looking for New Structural Engineering Software.
We do a lot of heavy civil engineering works, bridges, cofferdams, the occasional building etc which requires a lot of flexibility. For us LUSAS is pretty well suited to all the above. If we did just buildings we'd probably go with a package like Oasys GSA, RAM, CSC or SUPERSTRESS. These packages typically have far better interoperability with ArchCAD, Revit etc.
If you're involved in similar work I'd probably go with either LUSAS or MIDAS.
