Wondering about the ASME classification: Does metal core still come under GMAW? I was of the understanding they were talking about going like for like with CWB and MCAW would be covered under flux core.
Thanks in advance for your help

RE: ASME classification

Metal cored and flux cored electrode wires come are referenmced under the GMAW process under QW-255 (FCAW also included) of ASME IX. They are also addressed under the GTAW process under QW-256 and QW-404.23, im which case, they are not electrodes.

RE: ASME classification

Look at ASME Section II, Part C, (2013 Edition) AWS SFA standards.
