Solid Works Nonlinear Simulation Error: Incremental Rotation is too large

Solid Works Nonlinear Simulation Error: Incremental Rotation is too large

Solid Works Nonlinear Simulation Error: Incremental Rotation is too large

(OP)
Hello There,

I am currently working on doing Non linear buckling analysis for a company that is making a cup simulation for costomers. They want to do a top down force testing and for some reason I can not get my simulation to make the cup actually buckle. (I am completely new at SolidWorkds non linear simulations, so I am sorry for lack of knowledge on the topic. As well as still in school for Engineering Design)

So, when I started I took the CAD files my work had and made the container into a surface. The picture below is the work tree, so you can see how I made it.

I then cut the surfaces into a .25 sections from the rim (so I could input different sidewall thicknesses) the image below shows what I did to cup.

From there I continued to mesh the and use mesh controls to make sure I get an accurate reading of the area that "SHOULD BUCKLE". The settings where changed so I could preform a Nonlinear Buckling Analysis. After a few failed simulations of it telling me to change my convergence step to a lower number these are the current properties of the simulation.

So after running the analysis with not top plate pushing down on the part I got next to no movement and 0 amounts of buckling. This all came with a failed simulation result saying Incremetal rotation is too large and other assorted errors. These are the results that I got from the failed sim. The first one is displacement and as you cans see only the top rim is moving and even then it is 1.23e-001mm event though I have it set to move down 0.5 in. The second one is stress (-von misses -) and the sidewall of the container is not even remotely effected. Finally the last graph is the graphed version of the sim results.

Failled Simulation after failed simulation... I finally gave up and tried adding the top plate on to it to see if I could simulate the top down force test for the cut. Once again I have not been able to make it move more than decimals of a mm. As well as the error of incremental rotation is too large, and failure to make the cup buckle.

Can someone help me figure out what I am doing wrong to constantly get this warning ans no be able to get my cup to buckle?
