ASCE 7-05 Wind Code Interpretation

ASCE 7-05 Wind Code Interpretation

ASCE 7-05 Wind Code Interpretation

(OP)
I am trying to determine if my interpretation of the wind pressure distribution for walls in ASCE 7-05 is correct.

Method 2 - Any Height:
Only the windward wall pressure varies with height "z". The leeward and side wall pressures should all be calculated using the mean roof height "h" to determine "qh" and the resulting pressure should be applied uniformly over the entire wall height. Correct??

Method 2 - Low Rise:
All walls (including windward) evaluated at "h".

In other words, the only time the wind pressure is not constant is on the windward when using method 2 any height?

Thanks,
J

Yes...that is correct.
