Can anyone tell me where I can find a "polymer grout capable of 5000psi in 4 hours"? What is this stuff? Brand and mfgr sheets etc. Thanks to all.

RE: polymer grout

More info like the application of use etc would be beneficial.

It could be polymer-modified cementitious-based grout, or two-component epoxy-based, or possibly Methyl Methacrylate based, given the 4-hour strength gain value.

Give us more info...

RE: polymer grout

Have you looked at SIKAGROUT 300PT... check with them... it develops 3000 psi in 24 hours...

I don't have much more information unfortunately. This is from a WFLHD Bridge Project Special Contract Requirement which seems to obviate the FP-03 subsection (SCR vague and confusing, plans no help). The job has grout pads for EM p/c girder bearings, grout key joints between precast girders, and grouted base plates for the traffic railing. Plans do not call specifically for polymer grout for any of these items and the SCR does not tell us where to use the polymer grout... so I'm a bit lost. What little I can get from the internet indicates that polymer grout and epoxy grout are two very different things due to creep type characteristics of epoxy grout.

Does such a thing as 5ksi in 4 hrs even exist? Thanks again.

Yes, this product, for example, gets 4500psi in 3 hours.

This manufacturer's products have been used by many DoT's. They also have grouts and mortars too.

Having used Rapid-Set Cement-All in a topping application, it has an exceptionally quick strength gain - traffic-able in about 30 mins!

RE: polymer grout

Thanks Ing... feather edge and rapid strength gain... may be carcinogenic.
