High Volume Chemical Pump

High Volume Chemical Pump

High Volume Chemical Pump

(OP)
Hey guys,

I'm currently a ME intern and am working on a project that requires a high volume chemical resistant pump.

I'm developing an automated chemical delivery system for metal finishing. The chemicals are highly caustic and I can't seem to find a pump to move the volume of fluid I need.

The current manual dispensing is a safety concern so we're looking to automate. Doing the math the current method is capable of 27.1-49.4 gph if they run back and forth non stop.

The pump I'm looking would need to be able to pump about 1 gal of fluid in about 15 seconds. The most caustic material we're dealing with contains 60% sulfuric acid.

Can anyone recommend any pump manufactures that can meet these needs.

Thanks guys!

RE: High Volume Chemical Pump

1 gal / 15 seconds = 4 gallons per minute, this is not a high volume on any scale that I'm familiar with. I'd imagine you can find off the shelf composite (plastic) pumps to do this.

I think I found some actually, search McMaster.com for Extended-Life "Sealless Plastic Centrifugal Pumps. "

RE: High Volume Chemical Pump

First up, learning to use the Internet mightn't hurt. Google chemical process pumps would be a good start.
